Pioneer is 10-0 against the Wolves since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pioneer Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Woodland Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Pioneer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
Pioneer scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They put the hurt on Mesa Verde with a sharp 81-56 win. The win was a breath of fresh air for Pioneer as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Pioneer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chancey Minshew, who scored 21 points along with five assists. Minshew is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Hoyt, who scored 19 points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Woodland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 85-36 loss at the hands of Rio Linda. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woodland in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.
Pioneer's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Woodland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Pioneer didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Wolves in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win. Will Pioneer repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
