The Denver South Ravens had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-54 win over Mullen. That's another feather in the cap for Denver South, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jonathan Trease, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Trease hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Rhoades-Martinez, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Despite the loss, Mullen still got an impressive performance from Jordan Leslie, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 15 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Leslie has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mason Bonner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Denver South's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Mullen, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Denver South will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rangeview at 7:30 p.m. Denver South has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Mullen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
