Lyons is 10-0 against the Cougars since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lyons Lions will head out on the road to take on the North Rose-Wolcott Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Lyons will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Lyons put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They breezed by East Rochester on the road to the tune of 77-48. Given Lyons' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Bombers are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, North Rose-Wolcott had to suffer through a rough 75-45 loss at the hands of the Blue Panthers. North Rose-Wolcott was down 62-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Lyons pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for North Rose-Wolcott, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lyons against the Cougars in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 72-45 victory. Will Lyons repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
