Tri-City Athletic League recap November 13, 2013
Stagg extended the longest winning streak in Tri-City Athletic League this week by beating West, 55-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
The Wolfpack fell to Stagg 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nih-Jer Jackson had a great week catching the football as McNair lost to St. Mary's. He caught 10 passes for 222 yards.
Wayne Brooks threw for 184 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 8-13 with 0 interceptions.
Seth Santos provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Eagles lost to the Rams. He completed 20 passes for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 6 yards. Santos' favorite target this week was Jackson, who caught 10 passes for 222 yards.
Marcus Lomas was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 168 yards on 22 carries as St. Mary's lost to St. Mary's. Teammate Javonte Norman added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.
Stagg's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Delta Kings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brooks has thrown for 1,904 yards and 27 touchdowns this season, while Lester Williams has 33 catches for 721 yards.
Going into this week's game against Beyer, Don Norton's team's Brooks needs 96 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Delta Kings' Daniel Ruffin is a mere 45 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Ruffin has rushed for 955 yards on 125 carries so far this year.
