The Providence Christian Academy LIONS fell victim to the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Cougars at home and fell 41-0. While losing is never fun, Providence Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Middle Tennessee Christian is ranked 68th).
Eli Wilson was on fire for Middle Tennessee Christian: he rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Yates Geren, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Providence Christian Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Providence Christian Academy will be playing at home against The Webb School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Webb School is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. Middle Tennessee Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
