Even though the Clinton Christian Academy Patriots have not done well against the Heartland Mustangs recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Clinton Christian Academy walked away with a 55-46 victory over the Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clinton Christian Academy.
Clinton Christian Academy was led to victory by Jared Wisniewski and Raymond Hood. Wisniewski scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Hood dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. Hood hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Parker Lowe, who scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Heartland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Diego Martinez. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with two steals. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Jayce Maiden was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Clinton Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Heartland, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Noah Alaniz and Wisniewski. Heartland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
