Highlands Ranch is 1-7 against Chaparral since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Highlands Ranch Falcons will be playing at home against the Chaparral Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Highlands Ranch came up short against Legend and fell 80-69.
The losing side was boosted by Olin Anderson, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Payton TerEick, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Chaparral faced ThunderRidge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Chaparral strolled past ThunderRidge with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 75-59. The win was nothing new for Chaparral as they're now sitting on six straight.
Chaparral relied on the efforts of Christian Williams, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds, and Gavin Carter, who scored 30 points along with five assists and two steals. Carter has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Jenkins, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Highlands Ranch's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Chaparral, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Highlands Ranch lost to Chaparral at home by a decisive 62-45 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Highlands Ranch, Brayden Munroe (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
