The Granville Blue Aces put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 53-27 margin over Bexley. Considering Granville has won seven matches by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Granville to victory were Dante Varrasso and Beckett Long. Varrasso picked up 180 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Long threw for 285 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes. Cash Thomas made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Frey, who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 208 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Wright, who picked up 140 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Granville's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.6 points per game. As for Bexley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Granville will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games. Bexley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
