Basketball Recap: James Island Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

James Island extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Gavin Ward. The James Island Trojans walked away with a 60-51 victory over the Cane Bay Cobras on Saturday thanks to Ward, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 22 points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Cane Bay's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jahleel Sanders, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. Tristan Ford was another key player, putting up nine points.

James Island's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Cane Bay, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7.

Coming up, James Island will take on Ridge View at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ridge View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully James Island likes a good challenge. Cane Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
