Nixon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Salinas, who rushed for 80 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 161 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Toros recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Nixon's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Martin, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Nixon strolled past Martin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 24-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
