Eastern Tech has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Pikesville Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Pikesville is ranked 21st).
Eastern Tech's 17-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 45-37 to Sparrows Point on Friday.
Meanwhile, Pikesville waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Chesapeake 65-30 on the road. Pikesville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.
Pikesville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariah Jones-Bey, who scored 11 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of KA'nai Pyatt, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Eastern Tech bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pikesville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Eastern Tech took a serious blow against Pikesville when the teams last played back in February of 2018, falling 69-38. Can Eastern Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
