After a string of three wins, the Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Immanuel Christian 62-56. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Fairfax HomeSchool came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Immanuel Christian is ranked 203rd).
Immanuel Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Blanding, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. Gus Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Fairfax HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Immanuel Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfax HomeSchool will square off against Christ Chapel Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Immanuel Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Seton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
