The Enka Jets will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the East Henderson Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Enka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday.
Enka's 22-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. Their rough 71-46 defeat to West Henderson might stick with them for a while. Enka found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite their loss, Enka saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hyatt Middleton, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Sam Waddell, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, East Henderson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Hendersonville by a score of 62-53.
Enka now has a losing record at 1-2. As for East Henderson, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Enka beat East Henderson 66-55 in their previous meeting back in February of 2018. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was East Henderson's Alex Taylor, who scored 25 points along with 5 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Enka to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
