Hillsboro is 0-5 against Ferris since March of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 11:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Hillsboro needed a bit of extra time to put away Kennedale. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Wildcats. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Izzy Hernandez spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cloe Creech was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Laci Forns was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Creech wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hillsboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ferris, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Kennedale on Friday as they made off with a 16-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Ferris got a massive performance out of Valorie Carrillo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Carrillo also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madeline Welling, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Ferris pushed their record up to 12-10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hillsboro hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Ferris struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hillsboro came up short against Ferris in their previous meeting back in March, falling 14-11. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
