Veritas's Charles Caston recorded the longest rushing play in MAIS 8-Man District 9 (8 Man) this season in his game against Kemper Academy last week. Caston ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 70 on the day as his team fell to the Rams.
Christian Collegiate Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 923 from 987. The advance stemmed from a 35-0 victory over Mt. Salus Christian last week.
Veritas' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Robbie Nicholas has thrown for 630 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Caston has 13 catches for 384 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Rebul Academy and the Bulldogs. The Raiders enters the contest ranked 20th in the state, while Christian Collegiate Academy ranks 11th.
Joe Robert's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on the Eagles.
