On Saturday, Green Canyon didn't have too much trouble with Uintah at home as they won 55-36. Given Green Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Uintah is ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Green Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tori Jeppson led the charge by scoring 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Best, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Uintah still got an impressive performance from Charlee Gilroy, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Gilroy continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Zoey Glenn was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Green Canyon and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Uintah, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Green Canyon's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Fremont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Uintah will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Union is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
