Make it four blowout wins for the Golden Demons this season. Everything went their way against Wheat Ridge on Wednesday as Golden made off with a 49-26 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Golden as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Golden can attribute much of their success to Presley Kirkpatrick, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kirkpatrick has scored all season. Allie Neal was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
When it comes to explaining why Wheat Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Vanaiha Galdean. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Golden's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Wheat Ridge, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Golden will be playing at home against Alameda at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alameda is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Wheat Ridge, they will head out on the road to square off against Conifer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Conifer comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
