The Garfield G-Men will head out on the road to face off against the Perry Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep alive their perfect 12-game seasons.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Garfield had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Harrison Central as Garfield made off with a 56-35 win. Fans of Garfield have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Garfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eric Geddes, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Sell, who rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Perry can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sandy Valley 34-7 at home. Given Perry's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Sandy Valley is ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Garfield's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Perry, their win bumped their record up to an identical 12-0.
