Softball Recap: Jasper Drops Season-High Score on Mortimer Jordan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jasper). They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on DeCaleigh Calvin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Kilgore, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Jasper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mortimer Jordan only posted a batting average of .217.

Jasper pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for Mortimer Jordan, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jasper will face off against Corner at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mortimer Jordan, they will square off against Chelsea at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
