After eight lead changes,
Lone Star (Frisco, Texas) took the lead for good when
Will Campbell threw a touchdown with 10:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Aubrey (Texas) 39-28 on Saturday.
The Chaparrals pulled ahead on a touchdown run by
Matt Davis, and subsequently went into halftime leading 20-19. The Rangers took the lead for good with a touchdown pass by Campbell in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring six points in the third, Lone Star still trailed by 5 points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped LS pull out the victory.
Aubrey's
Anthony Alford played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown.
The Frisco school's standout player in the win was Campbell. The senior quarterback threw four touchdowns.
Lone Star (6-1) will play a 3A Region II District 10 game against Celina next week, while Aubrey (2-5) will take on Celina also in a 3A Region II District 10 game.
