Basketball Recap: Sunset Takes a Loss

Sunset played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the St. Brendan Sabres, falling 84-49. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.

Despite the loss, Sunset still got an impressive performance from Brandon Luis, who posted 21 points. Luis' evening made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Guevara, who had ten points and five assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sunset fell to 5-1. As for St. Brendan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Sunset will take on Mater Brickell Academy in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulls have averaged an impressive 58 points per game this season. St. Brendan and Archbishop Carroll will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
