The Vanguard School won the last time they faced Woodland Park and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vanguard School Coursers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Woodland Park Panthers 74-45. The Coursers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Leading The Vanguard School to victory were Lorenzo Bustamante and Matty Dessalegn. Bustamante posted 23 points and eight steals, while Dessalegn put up 17 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Bustamante a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Wetters, who had five points along with five assists and five steals.
The Vanguard School was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodland Park only four assists.
Despite the defeat, Woodland Park saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zach Summeril dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 35.6% of Woodland Park's points, marking the fifth time in a row Summeril has earned more than a third of the team's points.
