Denver South got a massive performance out of Dylan Coppock, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Coppock a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of VJ Valdez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Denver South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.
Pueblo East hit Thomas Jefferson with a four-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 11-1 to the Eagles.
