The Berlin Redcoats will face off against the Enfield Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Berlin sitting on six straight victories and Enfield on five.
Berlin proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Conard get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Redcoats have posted since April 16th.

Not much got past Callie Jehning, who gave up just five hits to keep Conard off the board. Jehning has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Berlin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jill Farrand, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Enfield faced off against Avon on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Falcons. Considering the Eagles have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Payten Stebbins was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Stebbins was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Emily Lyver was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Hailey Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Enfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Enfield pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Berlin, their record is now 17-4.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Berlin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .417. However, it's not like Enfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
