Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Karns City's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Karns City won the last time they faced North Clarion and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Gremlins' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wolves a 17-0 shutout. The Gremlins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Karns City got a massive performance out of Mason Sherwin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Sherwin a new career-high. Tyson Frazer was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Karns City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Karns City is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for North Clarion, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Karns City will challenge Moniteau at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Clarion, they will square off against Brockway at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rovers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.93 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
