Delta is 0-9 against Pendleton Heights since May of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Arabians at 6:00 p.m.
Delta fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Shelbyville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 7-6.
Jacquelyn Linn made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Loser, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pendleton Heights got themselves on the board against Anderson on Monday, but Anderson never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Indians. The matchup marked the Arabians' most dominant win of the season so far.
The result came thanks to Macy Hufford's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Pendleton Heights got a massive performance out of Aubrey Fox, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Ally Carlon was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Pendleton Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Pendleton Heights pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Delta, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Delta might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Pendleton Heights when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
