The Choctawhatchee Indians waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Mosley with points to spare, taking the game 47-29. Given Choctawhatchee's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Mosley is ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mosley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sherilyn Sanchez, who scored six points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Sanchez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mandi Grontas, who scored 12 points.
Choctawhatchee's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Mosley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Choctawhatchee on the road again on Monday and play against Niceville at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th. Mosley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Crestview at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
