The Cordova Wolverines can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Nenana 62-11 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Cordova has managed all season.
John Itliong was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven steals and five assists. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Calvin Fry, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Cordova's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Nenana, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Cordova and Ninilchik will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Nenana on the road again on Tuesday and play against Effie Kokrine Charter on January 23rd.
