Cactus is 2-8 against Peoria since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cactus Cobras will be playing at home against the Peoria Panthers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Cactus' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cactus gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Goldwater 80-52 on the road. With Cactus ahead 46-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Bradey Henige, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 20 rebounds. Henige is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hutton, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Peoria entered their tilt with Estrella Foothills with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Peoria walked away with a 61-53 win over Estrella Foothills on Thursday.
Desmone Brooks-conley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Ward, who scored 11 points.
Cactus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Peoria, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Cactus hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 67.7 points per game. It's a different story for Peoria, though, as they've been averaging only 50.7 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Everything came up roses for Cactus against Peoria when the teams last played last Wednesday as the team secured a 64-37 victory. Will Cactus repeat their success, or does Peoria have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
