The Davis Sr. Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 61-46 bruising from Pleasant Grove. Davis Sr. found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 11 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Davis Sr. still got an impressive performance from Aidan Crawford, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 39.1% of Davis Sr.'s points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alden Mccabe, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Lionel Williamson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds for Pleasant Grove. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williamson has scored all season. Elijah Sykes was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
Davis Sr. has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-15.
Davis Sr. will face off against Rio Americano at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rio Americano has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Pleasant Grove, they will be playing at home against Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jesuit will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Pleasant Grove surely won't give up without a fight.
