The Central Christian Saints entered their tilt with the Snook Christian Academy Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Central Christian came out on top against Snook Christian Academy by a score of 48-40 on Tuesday. Given Central Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Snook Christian Academy is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabe Gregory, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Gregory's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jarrod Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Snook Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Gabel, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Roshad Harris, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Snook Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Christian only pulled down seven.
Central Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Snook Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Christian will face off against Aletheia Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Snook Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
