Peabody's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Burns, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds. The matchup was Burns' 13th in a row with at least ten points. Jordan Mathews was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.
Peabody pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.56 points. As for Northside, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Peabody will square off against Booker T. Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Booker T. Washington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 134th in Florida, while Peabody is ranked second in Louisiana). As for Northside, they will be playing at home against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette and Northside are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
