Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah rose to the challenge on Monday. They never let the Heritage Christian Patriots get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Resorters, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Fromm was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Fromm was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Wagner, who went 3-for-4 with three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Lacota Lisowe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
