The Pueblo Warriors lost against the Cholla Chargers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Pueblo was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Cholla. Pueblo has not had much luck with Cholla recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Hernandez, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Aiden Cruz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Pueblo has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 15 of their last 18 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Cholla, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pueblo will take on Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Salpointe Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pueblo in Arizona (Salpointe Catholic is ranked 46th, while Pueblo is ranked 238th). As for Cholla, they will play host again and welcome Ironwood Ridge, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ironwood Ridge is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
