The Southwind Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 70-21 loss at the hands of Bartlett. Southwind has struggled against Bartlett recently, as their game on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Southwind still got an impressive performance from Ari'elle Stinson, who scored 13 points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Southwind struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bartlett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylin Sheffield, who scored ten points. Zoey Rixter was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Southwind has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Bartlett, they pushed their record up to 20-10 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Southwind will square off against Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwind will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Houston is ranked 96th). As for Bartlett, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Memphis Business Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Bartlett is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
