2A District 6 recap October 22, 2013
Capitol moved up to 161 from 188 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A District 6. The Lions were able to move up by defeating Northeast 36-6.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Episcopal beat Dunham 28-27. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Knights.
Redemptorist's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Russell Gage has thrown for 479 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Jawaun Sanders has 16 catches for 307 yards. Gage also leads the league in rushing with 624 yards.
The Vikings are currently in fourth, while Episcopal is in first.
Capitol made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,705 from 8,842. The improvement was the result of a 36-6 victory over Northeast last week.
