The Greensburg Pirates waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They managed a 57-53 victory over Madison. Given Greensburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Madison is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Addison Barnes-pettit, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Lutz, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Quincy Reynolds, who scored 21 points. Reynolds hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Mason Davis, who scored 11 points.
Greensburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Madison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greensburg will take on Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
