The Osceola Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Wesley Chapel Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osceola's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Wesley Chapel's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Osceola had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt St. Petersburg on Thursday. Osceola was the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over St. Petersburg. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Osceola got a great performance from Jackson Berglund as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Berglund has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Ethan Futch and Vincent Ferrell did most of the damage at the plate: Futch scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-5, while Ferrell scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave Futch a new career-high in stolen bases. Easton Stegbauer also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Wesley Chapel owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They skirted past Sunlake 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won four in a row.
Sunlake's batters probably weren't too happy with Aiden Nguyen, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Nguyen has become a key player for Wesley Chapel: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zorre Wright, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run. Mills Carrillo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Osceola has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Wesley Chapel's record is now 6-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Osceola has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wesley Chapel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Osceola came up short against Wesley Chapel in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 9-5. Can Osceola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
