A feisty cat fight will be fought as Alamogordo Tigers challenge Deming Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Alamogordo's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Deming's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Alamogordo is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Clovis, who was ranked 25th at the time (Alamogordo was ranked tenth). Alamogordo fell just short of Clovis by a score of 6-5 on Friday. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wildcats since on Friday.

Even though they lost, Alamogordo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Deming didn't have quite enough to beat Los Alamos on Friday and fell 4-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Deming saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Mosier, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Deming's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Alamogordo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season.
Alamogordo came out on top in a nail-biter against Deming in their previous meeting last Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. Will Alamogordo repeat their success, or does Deming has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
