Baseball Recap: Creekside Wins High-Profile Game Against Lowndes

Creekside is ranked highly in their home state and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Lowndes. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Vikings 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on four straight.

Matthew Bysheim spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Creekside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Morton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Morton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Creekside pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Lowndes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekside will welcome Beachside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lowndes, they will host Suwannee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
