Bonneville hasn't had much luck against Viewmont recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bonneville Lakers will venture away from home to take on the Viewmont Vikings at 5:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bonneville will bounce into Friday's game after beating Box Elder, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Bonneville escaped with a win on Wednesday against Box Elder by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lakers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Ema Eskelsen was the offensive standout of the contest as she almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Baya Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.
Meanwhile, Viewmont waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over the Knights.
Viewmont's win came from a few key players Bonneville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mara Mickelson, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 24 points. Mary Carr was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
Viewmont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 22 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Viewmont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Bonneville, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bonneville has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Viewmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bonneville came up short against Viewmont when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 62-49.
