The Harvest Community Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the First Coast Christian Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Harvest Community got the win against Christ's Church Academy by a conclusive 14-4. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Rebekah Harmer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Harmer was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Foti, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elise Harmer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Harvest Community kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christ's Church Academy only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask First Coast Christian). Everything went their way against Cedar Creek Christian on Monday as they made off with a 20-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Harvest Community pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for First Coast Christian, their record is now 6-3.
Everything went Harvest Community's way against First Coast Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Harvest Community made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
