The Camdenton Lakers won the last time they faced the Rolla Bulldogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Camdenton skirted past Rolla 17-14. Given Camdenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Rolla is ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kade Durnin, who rushed for 91 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Blake Ford and his 103 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Camdenton's win.
Camdenton's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-9 Hillcrest and 2-8 Waynesville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.6% over those games). As for Rolla, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Camdenton will square off against Capital City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Capital City will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Rolla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
