The Durant Cougars entered their tilt with the King Lions with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Durant was the clear victor by a 82-59 margin over the Lions. Given Durant's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Lions are ranked 334th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Austin White continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 6 assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Bokor, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, King still got an impressive performance from Ian McLargin, who scored 18 points along with two steals. McLargin hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Julien Barnett, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
King struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Durant pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Durant is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for King, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Durant and the Knights will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Robinson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. As for King, they will be playing at home against the Ravens at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
