The Carlisle Indians pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 74-60 to Mt. Enterprise. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (49), Carlisle still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Carlisle still got an impressive performance from Fernando Espinoza, who threw for 452 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Espinoza is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Eaves, who picked up 164 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Kaegan Ash continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mt. Enterprise, rushing for 508 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per carry. Ash is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tracey Thompson, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Mt. Enterprise's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Dawson Zarazinski and his two sacks.
Carlisle has fallen quite a ways from their 11-2 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Mt. Enterprise, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Carlisle will head out on the road to face off against Overton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Overton will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Mt. Enterprise, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tenaha at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
