The Northbrook Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Marian, falling 76-17. While losing is never fun, Northbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1154th, while Marian is ranked 305th).
Marian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamonte Butler, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 assists. The contest was Butler's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Issa Gadiaga, who scored 16 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
Northbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Marian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Northbrook will be playing in front of their home fans against Dekaney at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
