The Walton Braves will challenge the Bozeman Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Walton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Pensacola Catholic 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Bella Baker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Baker was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Zayleigh Jackson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Chyanne Gregor was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Walton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Bozeman waltzed into their game on Monday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 19-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bucks, who have now won 16 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Avery Obert looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bozeman got a massive performance out of Presley Thomason, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Bruhmuller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
The win got Walton back to even at 11-11. As for Bozeman, their victory bumped their record up to 23-3.
Walton might still be hurting after the 12-5 loss they got from Bozeman in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
