The Brighton Cardinals had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 43-27 victory over Craigmont on Friday. For Brighton, this counts as revenge for the 49-40 defeat Craigmont walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Brighton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayla Jones out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'lyjah Maclin, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Brighton's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14. As for Craigmont, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brighton will challenge Raleigh-Egypt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Raleigh-Egypt is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Craigmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Millington Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
