Dakota has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lena-Winslow Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dakota will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 458th, while Lena-Winslow is ranked 183rd).
Dakota suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 73-33 defeat at the hands of Orangeville. Dakota has not had much luck with Orangeville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Dakota's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Peyton Woodsmall, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds, and Bella Keyes who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lena-Winslow can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 56-18 win over Durand at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Lena-Winslow as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Dakota's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-13. As for Lena-Winslow, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Dakota was taken down by Lena-Winslow 48-18 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dakota was down 26-5.
