The TMI-Episcopal Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 54-13 loss at the hands of St. Anthony. TMI-Episcopal has not had much luck with St. Anthony recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Leading St. Anthony to victory were Laura Sierra and Alejandra Vargas. Sierra dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals, while Vargas dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 assists. Sierra is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Airial Casillas was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
TMI-Episcopal bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.4 points per game. As for St. Anthony, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. TMI-Episcopal will face off against Providence Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. St. Anthony on the road again on Tuesday and play against Saint Mary's Hall at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Saint Mary's Hall is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
